Allan S. Goodman

Our Story

Allan S. Goodman, Incorporated was founded in 1933 by Allan Goodman in Hartford, Connecticut.  With the enactment of the 21st Amendment and the repeal of Prohibition, Mr. Goodman began the business by picking up a car-load of whiskey to enter the distribution business. For almost 5 decades, the company was run by Allan’s step-son, Roger Loeb.  Roger helped to build the business as one of the industry leaders in Connecticut by forging strong relationships with employees, customers, suppliers, and the Greater Hartford community at large.  On a personal and business level, Roger has been a strong supporter of many local causes in the community including local hospitals, schools, the arts, and numerous local and national charities.

In 2004, Roger promoted his son-in-law, Dave Heller, to preside over Allan S. Goodman.  Dave and his wife Wendy joined the company in 1993.  The management team is hopeful that a member of the “4th Generation” will have an interest in helping to steward the family business in the years to come!
